StarStone Board

Scott Addy

Scott and his wife Paula moved to Parker in 2015 from Georgia.  They have two grown children and a grandson.

Scott grew up on a dairy farm in Georgia and has worked in agriculture related roles for over 34 years.  He graduated from the University of Georgia and is a proud Bulldog.

He has been a member of StarStone since inception and also is a Gideon.  He enjoys doing Bible distributions in the Parker area.  Being a part of StarStone and the Bible focused teaching is such a blessing.  Can’t wait to see how God is going to use this congregation in Parker.

Susan Bertocchi

Susan is a NYC native, happy wife, and mother of three. She enjoys walking, gardening and cooking. Susan is deeply involved in her family’s business, Kilwins Chocolates and Ice Cream, where she can often be found dipping caramel apples or serving chocolate malts to customers.

As a UMC Pastor’s daughter, Susan cherishes her longstanding relationship with Jesus and the Wesleyan tradition. She looks forward to StarStone Fellowship’s growth and continued commitment to study and discipleship.

Shelby Brown

I was born and raised in Benton, Pennsylvania, into a family who had been in that area since the 1600s.  My mother and father both have an ancestor who came over from Europe on the Mayflower.  My father went to seminary when I was a tiny tot and began pastoring in the Methodist church before I started school. Fast forward a few years – I graduated from Oral Robert’s University with a degree in business education.  I stayed home to raise children, but went back to work as an educator when they got into school.  Currently, I’m an English teacher at Elizabeth High School and plan to retire in May.

I became involved in Starstone Fellowship when Randy Jessen offered to start a Bible study a little over two years ago.  It’s been a blessing to watch our congregation grow and become a close-knit church family.  I especially have enjoyed the music ministry and singing in the choir and ringing with the bell choir. I’m most excited to see how God will use our little congregation to make a global impact on furthering His kingdom.

Thorne Davis, Church Secretary

I am a retired USAF officer (35-year career) with experience in air intelligence and air basemanagement and support. Following military retirement, I worked as a federal personnel security contractor within the National Nuclear Security Agency for six years. My involvement with StarStone Fellowship Church began even before the church was established in 2023. In 2016, at the recommendation of Randy Jessen, my wife and I attended the first conference of the newly established Wesleyan Covenant Association (WCA) in Chicago.

We were so moved by the Holy Spirit at that conference that we immediately became, with several hundred other attendees, founding lay members of the association. Our involvement with the WCA led us to another important event in our spiritual life, when seven years later, once again at the behest of Randy, we were invited to meet at his home along with 15 other people, and with them became the first members of StarStoneFellowship Church that evening.I consider it a privilege to serve as the Church Secretary for StarStone Fellowship Church and am so excited to be a part of a new expression of Wesleyanism and Methodism embodied in StarStone, and I find joy and fulfillment each week at our Wednesday evening Bible studies and worship services.

The synergy of our congregation and the presence of the Holy Spirit working in us each and every week is something to behold! StarStone has made Wednesday night the best night, and each week the best week, since its inception.

My wife and I enjoy spending time with our two adult children, their wonderful spouses, and our four grandchildren (ages 10 through 24). We also look forward to vacations along the Gulf coast and visiting local places in Colorado on day trips whenever possible. Of course, we cherish our time together with our extended church family each week.

Linda DePoy (President)

I grew up in Michigan and became a proud Michigan State Spartan—Go Green! Over the years, I’ve moved all over the U.S. with my high school sweetheart, David, to whom I’ve been happily married for 43 years. We share a love for hiking and golfing, and I also enjoy reading and cooking.

Family is at the heart of my life, and my three amazing children and three wonderful grandchildren have completely stolen my heart.

Faith is also a cornerstone of my journey. I was at the very first service of StarStone Fellowship Church (SSF) and immediately felt God’s presence among us. Now, as Chair of the Church Council, I am honored to serve this incredible community. SSF has become a family for all our partners, and I love being part of its growth and evolution. Participating in SSF has truly filled my soul, and I look forward to what comes next for our SSF family.

Ben Garneau

Have been a Methodist for well over 60 years affiliated with numerous churches from New York, Michigan, Texas, California, and now Colorado. Was a member of the founding Starstone Fellowship Church board of directors  in January 2022 and a member of the church council in 2023. Have served in numerous capacities in the various churches that I have been associated with, including Finance, Marketing, Bible study, and Annual fund raising.

Having known Randy Jessen for over 15 years it was only natural to follow him from the church I was previously associated with. I am excited to be a member of StarStone and to be a part of an unaffiliated group of Christians who follow Wesleyan doctrine exploring various ways to serve our communities.

My current hobbies and finances are directed toward helping my daughter get through her final years at Colorado School of Mines and my son through his final quarters of Graduate School at Northwestern University. Kim, my ever supportive wife , and I, on occasion, travel about while raising three dogs and two cats.

Keith Johnson

Keith joined the SSF Council in 2024 and serves on the Mission Team. Originally from Arkansas and the youngest son of a UMC Pastor, he has served on church boards and committees in 6 different cities, including Parker. Keith had a 38-year career with the YMCA, retiring as the CEO of the YMCA of Memphis and the Mid-South. He is married to Debbie Kisrow Johnson and has 2 daughters, 2 son- in-laws and 5 grandchildren. They celebrated 51 years of marriage in April. They are both involved with Community Bible Study of Aurora. Debbie serves as Teaching Director and Keith is a Men’s Core Group leader. They live near the Aurora Reservoir and enjoy walking, camping and traveling.

Jim Schafer (Treasurer)

I was born and raised in the Thumb of Michigan. My parents were farmers most of their lives. I met Dianna and we married in 1981. We have two sons and four grandchildren. I was raised in the Moravian Church and attended there until the move to Colorado in 2010. Shortly after moving to Colorado I started attending the Methodist Church in Parker. I attended Central Michigan University and graduated with a major in Business Administration. I passed the CPA exam and worked in the accounting profession most of my life. I was elected a Commissioner for Tuscola County, Michigan and served for ten years.

I have been a StarStone Fellowship partner from the beginning and love being part of this church. I most love that our church embraces the teachings of the Bible and encourages us all to share our faith with others. I currently serve as Treasurer.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I have enjoyed the outdoors all of my life. I like fishing, boating, hunting, golfing, skiing, hiking, and exploring. Just about everything outdoors. I enjoy watching good movies.

Kurt Stroman

Kurt Stroman is a retired music educator and church musician who spent his career sharing the joy of music with students and congregations. Though officially retired, he still enjoys teaching part-time and staying connected to the world of music. His wife, Tina, was a career-long Spanish teacher, and together they’ve raised three adult children. Their home is currently shared with a lovable golden retriever named Murphy and a spirited dachshund named Owen.

Kurt loves spending time with his family, getting out for a run, casting a line on the water, admiring cool cars, and exploring new places through travel. At StarStone Fellowship, he helps lead the outreach ministry—overseeing communication, coordinating mission efforts, and planning special events. He’s deeply grateful to be part of the StarStone family and values the way this community of believers supports one another in learning, growing, and walking in faith. For Kurt, the journey of following Christ is ongoing and deeply meaningful, and he’s thankful to walk it alongside others who share that same desire.

Tina Stroman

A wife to Kurt and mom to Isaac, Kaleb, and Maya, I am a retired teacher of Spanish, Student Leadership, and Instructional Coaching. For the past three years, I have served in the role of Development Coordinator at Make-A-Wish Colorado.

My involvement with StarStone began in January 2023 when I expressed interest in joining a Bible study, and two weeks later, our StarStone Fellowship congregation was born. I’m most excited to serve in this ministry to dream and watch our community expand in meaningful and intentional ways. I like to learn, read, practice yoga, and explore new things and places! I also love VW Bugs! 🙂
